Salvatore Ferragamo: Signorina
One of the prettiest bottles to be released this spring, echoing Ferragamo's famous shoe bows. The bottle is playfully pink for a reason: the scent incorporates notes of fresh pink pepper, rose, peony as well as currants, soft musk and patchouli. It's hard to describe it any other way but to say it smells seductively Italian. You can imagine a young Sophia Loren dousing herself in this fragrance. Available from selected department stores from April. £56 for 50ml EDP. Watch the ad and claim a free sample www.ferragamosignorina.co.uk

These three newcomers to the sexy AP family were made especially for daytime wear and offer a lighter, more subtle take on the original Eau de Parfum, Maitresse and L'Agent fragrances. Paul Smith: Sunshine
It is quite ironic that Paul Smith, the most traditionally 'British' of all our designers, should bring out a scent called Sunshine, seeing as we hardly see any in this country! Perhaps here lies the beauty of this fragrance for it is warm and exotic, thanks to top notes of pink grapefruit, black peppercorns, coriander seeds, nutmeg and star fruit. Something to remind you of summer holidays even if the sky is cloudy and grey! Avaible nationwide now, £31 for 100ml EDT

Miss Dior : Eau Fraiche
A lighter take on the original Miss Dior, this sister scent for spring is subtle and floral with a little added tangyness. It actually keeps evolving over time thanks to the wonderful mixture of fresh citrus top notes, bergamot and gardenia. The base notes of patchouli and jasmine leave their final mark on the skin with a sweet, almost edible smell. Delicious! Available from selected department stores now, £49 for 50ml

Givenchy: Very Irrésistible Givenchy Electric Rose
There is an added bonus when you buy this new Givenchy scent: a complimentary card to download Liv Tyler's version of INXS's song, I Need You Tonight! We doubt that will boost sales dramatically, but this new perfume is quite unique as it is one of the most layered combinations of citrus and floral, with blueberry, lemon zest, verbena, basil as well as rose and green violet with base notes of cedar and musk. Fresh and youthful for spring, despite the bottle being a little unexciting and predictable. Available from selected Boots stores now, and nationwide end April. £44.50 for 50ml EDT
