A restaurant with a twist... Lifestyle 25 June 2012 by Sophia Hélène Price There are several things that bring me huge joy in life – sipping a steaming cup of cocoa on a rainy Sunday, shopping the latest trends on payday and enjoying jazz music at a seaside bar are all high on my list but probably not to everyone's taste. Good books and fine food, on the other hand, are sure to pop up on many a list and when blended together in one chic little Parisian restaurant, I'm thinking you'd be hard pressed to find a non-taker. Restaurant La Librairie is exactly what it claims to be – restaurant and bookshop. Let's start with the most important - the food. In typical French brasserie style – you'll find classics such as foie gras for starters and faux filet marinated with a selection of green vegetables, beautifully presented, and succulent. It's not the cheapest night out but the prices are reasonable for the quality (and quantity) of food served – roughly 11 euros for starters/desserts and 21 euros for a main course. There is also a mouth-watering Sunday brunch for 26 euros per adult (14 euros for children) offering a selection of breakfast classics (and some yummy additionals!). Feast on the best France has to offer whilst in the presence of the best France has to offer – Zola, Hugo, Flaubert... it's a struggle to keep your eyes on the table in this fantastic environment but fortunately, you can sneak off with a book in hand (just remember to bring it back on your next visit for someone else to enjoy)!
