Last week, I headed back from Paris to join the rest of the Byou team for London Fashion Week (check out all the LFW action in this week's features) but despite all the excitement and rushing around, I did manage to spot something a little more surprising on the way back. Before even having left the fabulous King's Cross St Pancras station, I was drawn in by a quaint looking shop near the famous Harry Potter trolley disappearing into the wall nearby. Above it I see Platform 9¾. For anyone who is a fan of, or has even picked up a Harry Potter book, this will immediately make sense as the journey to the fictional Hogwarts School for Wizards begins at this very platform.
The shop is full of tourists, children and dedicated Potter fans and you'll find everything a Hogwarts wizard could need in this little store. Rows of magical, and sometimes eerie, wands are displayed around the boutique amongst wardrobes of school uniforms, broomsticks and robes as well the more practical gifts and stationery or 'other curiosities'.
The magical boutique opened its door just over a month ago now and has been enjoying numerous visitors, but what is particularly delightful is the decor of the shop and how true it has remained to the extremely popular novels and films. It's more proof that deep down, we're all just children at heart!
