The concept founded by street artist My Dog Sighs

Browsing through various art blogs, I stumbled upon a curious little face, big eyes, knitted bonnet and a funny expression. I continued to read on and discovered that the curious little character was in fact the creation of street artist
My Dog Sighs and not only that, the artist belongs to a project known as
Free Art Friday, a concept that exists across the world by which artists create works of art and then place them on the street for any member of the public to take home and enjoy.

The only rules for artists are that they make sure the work is easily removable and that it does little or no damage to its environment making it a movement of freedom in which artists around the world can voice ideas, amuse viewers or simply impress with their craftsmanship, hoping to cheer up a passerby on a routine journey.
My Dog Sighs is the founder of
Free Art Friday, although based on an already exisiting concept, and is one of many artists involved in the project. Recognised for his 'can art',
My Dog Sighs specialises in creating little personalities from old tin cans. A can of baked beans quickly becomes a wisened old man with a bushy moustache, a can of golden syrup is transformed into a tearful young girl and an old rusty can takes on new life as a veiled woman.

It's a fun concept allowing artists and art lovers to share their passion in a humorous and good natured project with a simple message that 'along with the need to sell, promote, fight the system and rebel, there is also a need to embellish and entertain in a non profit way without the need to cause damage to property.'
Keep your eyes peeled London, this really is a case of the right place at the right time and I've yet to get lucky!
