The Playboy bunnies are back in London!

The Playboy Club is Back!

Step back in time as the Playboy Club returns to Mayfair, 30 years after its closure. While many will relish the revival of the bunny outfits, feminists are hopping mad claiming it's a move in the wrong direction for women's rights.

Back in the day, being a Playboy bunny was synonymous with glamour. Rubbing shoulders with movie and rock stars like Michael Cane, Frank Sinatra (below in 1966) and The Rolling Stones was part of the job and it was as enviable as being a Bond girl.  The girls were highly protected (touching a bunny was considered an offence) and some used it as a stepping stone to bigger things - singer Debbie Harry and actress Lauren Hutton once donned the famous ears. As a private members' club, the Playboy Club will feature a restaurant, cocktail bar, member's lounge, table games and gaming rooms.

Along with its new look, the bunny costume has undergone an update, courtesy of British designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig from the Marchesa label. They promise to stay true to the classic corsetted silhouette but with added Marchesa details like draping and embroidery. Few will deny that the highlight of the club opening will be the appearance of its iconic owner Hugh Hefner, who at 85, is set to embark on his third marriage to his very own Playboy Playmate, 24-year-old Chrystal Harris. The Playboy Club opens Saturday 4th June, at 14, Old Park Lane, London.
