Nails Inc has a new make-your-own service!

Bargain Bespoke Presents

We can't all afford a customised Anya Hindmarchbag, but we should credit the designer for sparking our obsession for bespoke accessories thanks to her 'photo handbags' which she launched a decade ago (your picture printed on a AH bag). Since then Louis Vuitton and Goyard also offer an initial stamping service, but again, we're talking triple figures for this sort of arm candy.

Thankfully Nails Inc has some up with the perfect alternative: a nail varnish that you can design and name, right down to the shade, rhinestone lid and stickers on the box - no need for an expensive handbag, when you have an exclusive mani on the go!

Initially launched in Harvey Nichols, the service, called Couture by Nails Inc, is now available via their website.  To create your polish, all you have to do is complete four fun steps (picking the name is the best), and your unique varnish will arrive in a dainty box within a few weeks. Priced at £20, we can't think of a more thoughtful (and affordable) birthday present for a girlfriend who loves a bit of pampering.

For homebodies, look at quirky kitchenware designer, Emma Bridgewater's website. You can make a personalised piece of pottery online using eight patterns and a choice of eight shapes (from pet bowl to mug), then add a name or message to the item.  We recommend the baby mug as a fun first birthday present. Prices start at £12.

Did you know that you can design your own Converse online? If you did, bet you didn't know that there are now 14 styles of shoe to chose from, including two glow in the dark one? Delivery takes 4/5 weeks and you can personalise everything from the colour of the ' toe bumper' to the stitching. From £60 for an adult size.  See converse.co.uk
