Top tips for beach babe perfection

Get The Look : Blake Lively

It's that time of year when we pack away our bikinis and beach towels as another autumn draws near, threatening to return us to our former paler selves! But with so much 'hard work' spent on building up our beautiful tans we're not about to let them get away that quickly so follow our beauty tricks to maximise your golden glow!

We love Blake Lively's gorgeous colour and subtle highlights and simply couldn't resist drawing our style inspiration from the Gossip Girl beauty. For this natural bronzed look, start by applying your regular moisturiser mixed with a few drops of Benefit Moonbeam and apply all over the face for a subtle glow.  Follow with Armani foundation (one pump is enough coverage for your whole face) and then touch up any blemishes with Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick.

For a really sun-kissed glow, highlight cheekbones with Guerlain Terracotta Touch by applying one stroke across the top of the cheeks and on the temples and then emphasize your tan by sweeping Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder over the cheeks, forehead and nose and even onto shoulders and décolleté.

Keep eye make-up simple, using a light shimmer shadow. Laura Mercier Canyon Eye Colour in Pink Cedar has a beautiful sheen to it and looks stunning with brown liner and mascara. We love Bobbi Brown's Gel Eyeliner in Sepia Ink which glides on easily with Bobbi's Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush and you can keep the look natural by applying the liner to the top lash line only. Finish the look with Laura Mercier's Lip Glacé in the limited edition Brick shade which gives a gorgeous warm colour and can be built up for added intensity.

And now that you've perfected the make-up, spritz Charles Worthington Front Row Salt Spray into your hair and pull on a light coloured top to highlight your tan – unfortunately you'll probably need to bring the brolly along too!
